Go on an underground exploration and come face to face with the hidden secrets and the rich history of the famous marl caves in Valkenburg. A cave full of educational, historical stories and beautiful marl and sand sculptures. Create your own marl sculpture, search for ancient fossils, study the films of the sand wizard and test your knowledge on the interactive tablets.

Learning through play
There is a lot to experience especially for the little ones among us! We take them on a treasure hunt and let them discover all the secrets of MergelRijk in a playful way. Using films by the sand wizard, the children make their own sand drawing, discover a special fossil and mining museum and answer questions via the interactive tablets. As the icing on the cream cake, they are allowed to work in the cave workshop with their one and only, own, own work of art.
