The 3D cave paintings in MergelRijk are one of the unique and impressive attractions of this underground adventure. The paintings use advanced techniques to create optical illusions, making them look like three-dimensional works of art. The paintings are inspired by the stories that take place in and around the Limburg caves and they fit perfectly into the mysterious and magical atmosphere of the cave.<\/span><\/p>

The technique of perspective makes the images appear to really come off the walls and ceilings. This makes it an interactive work of art, where visitors can only view the paintings closely through a camera lens and from one point to best experience the 3D illusions. The paintings are so detailed and realistic that they take on an almost vivid appearance, making it a fascinating experience. The 3D paintings are created in such a way that you can take photos with them.

The combination of the caves, paintings and lighting makes it a spectacular experience that is a year-round hit. The origins<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Stone Age, drawings were already being made on the walls of caves about 25,000 years ago. Less long ago, but still more than 300 years back, people in our region started making numerous charcoal drawings on the walls of the marl caves in Limburg. The creative team at MergelRijk thought the time was ripe for innovation. While brainstorming, they came up with the idea of extending the line of the earlier wall drawings to the present day, using today's means and possibilities.

So the plan was conceived to have unique 3D cave paintings on the walls in MergelRijk, continuing the age-old tradition of creating cave paintings.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNaomi Haverland has been painting for as long as she can remember. She specialises in humorous and hyper-realistic portraits. Her anamorphic \"3D\" illusions are executed with the most impressive quality of any artist in the industry. She has won many recognitions and awards for her art, including 7 prizes at the Denver Chalk Art Festival in Colorado, her home state.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Nate Baranowski<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNate Baranowski is a street painter, muralist and fine artist from Chicago. Nate can add a touch of creativity to any environment. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his passion for street painting began. He specialises in creating 3D artworks that look like they jump straight out of the ground or wall. From temporary installations to permanent murals. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tChris Carlson is a professional 3D chalk artist and muralist from Denver, Colorado. He has already travelled all over the world creating artworks for thousands of people. His work can be seen in well-known advertising campaigns of major companies and in 3D illusion museums in the US and Mexico, for example. Chris regularly collaborates with Nate Baranowski on large street art commissions. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tKerim Mu\u0161anovi\u0107 is an academic painter, muralist and 3D street artist from Sarajevo. His career as a street artist began in 2012 when he won the first prize in 3D street painting in Sarajevo. After that, he won many more awards and recognitions for his artistic achievements. In 2015, he decided to travel the world on his own to paint at street art festivals and events. Did you know that there are only about 40 people in the world who are professional 3D artists? It's a pretty difficult technique and you can't learn it in school. You can only learn from other artists. This is how the Dutch Rianne te Kaat did it and how she is one of the few really good Dutch artists with 3D anamorphic art as a speciality. Rianne has done all the 3D paintings with the Christmas theme. Her works can be admired every year during Christmas in MergelRijk and are great fun to take photos with!
